As if being founder of NatureMetrics isn’t adventure enough, in 2022 our founder Dr Kat Bruce elected to spend a month at sea in a tiny boat with five men, rowing and resting in 2 hour shifts, 24 hours a day… and collecting eDNA samples.

If your business isn’t already affected by biodiversity regulation, it will be very soon. Becoming nature positive will no longer be a nice-to-have reputational asset, but simply a licence to do business. And new regulations can be enormously disruptive to businesses, so smart organisations will prepare now, if they have not already started.

This collaboration brings about significant advancements in the field by offering autonomous collection of environmental DNA from marine environments.

NatureMetrics set to become the first company in the world to provide environmental DNA (eDNA) air sampling as a commercial service.

NatureMetrics is proud to embark on a new project in partnership with Rainforest Connection (RFCx) and Health In Harmony, which will bridge ecoacoustics and environmental DNA (eDNA) to monitor biodiversity in Manombo Special Reserve, Madagascar.

Nature-friendly policies are no longer a nice-to-have for business. They are a commercial imperative. Brands with purpose are already growing faster than their peers, and that growth will accelerate. This article explains how effective and scaleable biodiversity monitoring solutions will become tomorrow's profit centres: a nature yield.

As nature-related risks become top of the agenda for businesses responding to new nature reporting requirements, Pippa Howard, Chief Nature Strategist, explains the details of NatureMetrics’ new NATURE Maturity Assessment service.

New York Climate Week 2023 marked a milestone as nature and biodiversity took a prominent role alongside climate conversations. The well-attended Nature Positive Hub demonstrated the growing focus on collaborating to address the intertwined climate and nature crises. While momentum is clearly building, we now need to transition from talk into concrete systemic change implemented across entire value chains.

When NatureMetrics was founded 2014, our mission was simple: to empower the best decisions for nature. While that goal hasn’t changed in 2023, the need to address accelerating nature loss has made it even more urgent.

NatureMetrics is the first company in the world to launch a Nature Intelligence subscription service powered by environmental DNA (eDNA) technology, converting the intricacies of nature into meaningful insights for corporate sustainability teams to take action.

• New CEO will drive company expansion in response to huge demand for nature reporting driven by frameworks such as TNFD and CSRD.
• Dimple brings deep experience across digital and global commercial development to guide NatureMetrics through next important growth phase, with particular focus on Canada and the United States.
• NatureMetrics’ new Nature Intelligence Platform experiences high demand as corporates look to new solutions for scalable biodiversity monitoring.

On 7th March, NatureMetrics and Mining Technology Magazine host a webinar exploring how mining’s nature-related commitments are changing – and the new technologies that can help meet these.

• NatureMetrics will deploy its world-leading environmental DNA (eDNA) sampling technology in four critical locations across Unilever’s supply chain.
• Soil and insect biodiversity will be measured.
• Work has already begun to establish baseline data across thousands of hectares in Argentina, Canada, the UK and Europe.
• The partnership supports Unilever's regenerative agriculture programme designed to make farming climate resilient.

New nature tech solutions are enabling the mining industry to pursue a "nature positive" future by monitoring and managing biodiversity. Increasing regulatory requirements around biodiversity disclosure make technologies like remote sensing and eDNA crucial for mining companies to comply.
