Dimple Patel

CEO

Dimple Patel is a multi-exited Founder and entrepreneur, currently CEO at NatureMetrics, the leading provider of nature data intelligence solutions. NatureMetrics harnesses transformative technologies like environmental DNA and AI to generate unprecedented biodiversity insights for businesses and governments globally, and has been recognised as a World Economic Forum Tech Pioneer 2024, BloombergNEF Pioneer 2024 and Earthshot Prize Finalist 2024.

With 15yrs experience founding, scaling and exiting multiple successful ventures, such as Love Koffee and Trouva, Dimple’s work spans across multiple sectors and geographies. She has led teams through international expansions and acquisitions, with her previous company Trouva ranked #1 in the Startups 100 list in 2020, and operating in 50 markets at exit.

Dimple is deeply passionate about creating social impact and actively supports underrepresented founders as a mentor and advisor. She also serves as an ambassador for grassroots organizations that provide opportunities for young people. Dimple regularly shares her expertise through articles for publishers such as Impact Investor, BBC, Drapers magazine and Sifted.
Pippa Howard

Chief Nature Strategist

Pippa Howard has been a key architect of corporate and national level Biodiversity Net Positive and Nature-positive frameworks and methodologies, and has been working across multiple sectors on all continents to develop strategic approaches to managing biodiversity.  This is a skill set and growth area that is taken into NatureMetrics, focusing on developing and implementing high integrity management and disclosure of nature-related risks and opportunities.

The approach is underpinned by a resolute commitment to achieving global best practice standards for companies developing and operating projects in areas of sensitive biodiversity and ecosystem services. Pippa has a strong track record in implementing programmes of work following key standards such as IFC’s Performance Standard 6, the development of assessment and management frameworks that implement the mitigation hierarchy and a suite of projects that work towards achieving no net loss or a net gain of biodiversity. As a leader in her field, and the leader of a thriving cross-cutting global programme, matrix management and multi-disciplinary teamwork are central to her modus operandum. Pippa nurtures and mentors colleagues creating a strongly collaborative and enabling work environment whilst delivering technical excellence.

Pippa Howard is Chief Nature Strategist at NatureMetrics, with degrees in Environmental Science, Marine Biology, Zoology and International Development. A registered Professional Natural Scientist with over 25 years’ experience in a variety of spheres of biodiversity conservation, environmental management, impact assessment, development and sustainability.
Juliet Jones

Chief Scientific Officer

Juliet is Chief Scientific Officer for NatureMetrics, an award-winning technology start-up using cutting-edge genetic techniques to monitor biodiversity. We provide high quality data for less sampling effort. I am a molecular biologist by training, with 14 years experience in academic and biotech laboratories and a PhD in biochemistry and cell biology from the Institute of Cancer Research.
Dr. Kat Bruce

Kat is a biodiversity scientist and one of the global pioneers in the use of environmental DNA for large-scale biodiversity assessment. Kat founded NatureMetrics in 2014 to improve the ability of businesses, governments and NGOs to measure and track the state of nature at site-based assets.

From a team of 4 scientists, NatureMetrics has become one of the world’s leading nature technology companies, helping hundreds of companies to track their impacts and make better decisions for nature across global portfolios of sites. She is one of the founding members of the UK Business and Biodiversity Forum, part of the TNFD data catalyst, and has been involved in both Climate and Biodiversity COPs in recent years as a leading voice in the fast-emerging field of NatureTech.
Edwina Surtees

COO

Edwina Surtees is a strategic finance and technology leader with experience scaling high-growth, mission-led businesses.

Currently COO at NatureMetrics and former CFO at Trouva, she has led international expansion across 50+ markets, played a key role in fundraising and multiple exits, and driven transformation through collaborative leadership. Edwina began her career at PwC and holds an Economics degree from the University of Cambridge.
